A few other things I have found helpful. 1. When driving a long time - be sure to make frequent stops to stretch your legs. Even though this may be irritating to the driver - use it as an excuse to see more of the countryside. 2. Use early boarding - as our illness is invisible - we are embarrased about getting help as it doesn't look like we need it. Take it - it will help your family too. Get your Dr. to put that in the note (very crucial to have). 3. Get books, activities like crosswords - distraction always helps the pain. 4. Cushion your vacation time so that you have sick time. I went to Florida for 7 days and 2 days were travel (horrible) and I spent 2 days (1 there and 1 home) in pain - so my trip was about 4 days in reality. I would not ever have a connecting flight again because of that & I would take 10 days instead of 7. 5. If you need to have a resty during your day on your vacation take it - it is your vacation too. Happy travelling!!!

great tips! Traveling can be very hard/stressful for those with chronic illnesses. Having a plan can make all the difference.
I find keeping my schedule flexible helps a lot, then I don't feel guilty if I can't do something on a certain day. No worries.
Keep it fun.
